Marion Knutson is originally
from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but has lived in several countries around the
world, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Canada and Mexico.
Currently, she is an educator at a Christian international school in southern
Taiwan.
Marion gained a strong desire to
serve those in need through various experiences. She worked in Toronto, Montreal, and
Taiwan serving low
socioeconomic families while volunteering at the Yonge Street Mission, Red Roof St. Michael's Mission, and ORTV, Inc. As
well, she was able to participate in rebuilding efforts in central
Taiwan after the devastating
earthquake in 1999 by helping with summer education programs. Marion has also worked as a research assistant at
McGill
University conducting
policy research on urban inequality and neighbourhood
health.
She has a Bachelor of
Commerce from McGill University, and worked as a market analyst for various
consumer goods firms in Toronto as well as in
Shanghai.
Marion also has a Bachelor of Education from the
University of Ottawa, and has spent the last couple years
teaching at international schools in different
countries.
