Bjorn is a member of RenegAID’s Board and a Project Developer.
Bjorn is one of RenegAID’s incorporators and was in East Biloxi, Mississippi for several weeks following hurricane Katrina in 2005. He has a background in Water Ecosystems and in Public Health, and is currently a PhD candidate studying how public health professionals align when faced with competing narratives between the Settler state supporting dispossession of Indigenous people for resource extraction and Indigenous struggles to protect the land as integral to wellbeing. Bjorn brings this perspective to his understanding of disaster recovery, prioritizing the need to support communities as they lead recovery on their own terms and supporting resistance against further dispossession.
Bjorn is a husband and a father, and enjoys fishing from a canoe.
